Seasons of Change

Seasons of Change

Change is coming, you can feel it. The crisp morning air washed over me as I walked to the front gate to retrieve the Tennessean yesterday morning.  Perhaps a false alarm, as the ensuing days dripped with humidity and the lingering heat of a relentless summer. The deep verdant green is not yet signaling the colorful autumn riot, and the slow crawl toward the inevitability of winter, but it’s coming. You can sense it.

The changing seasons produce a natural rhythm to our lives, but as this summer of plenty draws to a close, the pace begins to slow in preparation for the dormancy and hibernation of winter. The thermometer indicates summer is loath to disappear, but my life seems to exist behind the quiet closed door of winter already. The seasons of my life appear to be “out of whack”. But life experience, and faith in the mystery of that life, has taught me that while I can’t see the seeds germinating under the dark and frozen soil of inactivity, there is certainly new growth occurring, waiting to burst forth. I don’t even know exactly what type of seeds have been planted, only that they were dropped into the fertile soil of a life of wholeness. Life is awakening in us, what season do you find yourself in?

  • Just like Summer is pushing to become Fall. I am in a season of transition. It has been this way for a while now. So love your writings friend.

  • I feel like I’m in eternal spring. Rebirth is all around me, and in me. As we continue to grow and flourish in the sunshine of our lives, seeds of thought, some planted many years ago, are now breaking through and are being allowed to reach for the stars.
Love your writings, and I always look forward to more.

    • I love your spirit Kathi! “Breaking through and being allowed to reach for the stars”. Let’s allow ourselves, give ourselves permission to reach for the lives we desire!
